Most of the info you need can be found in this map/guide:

http://www.cartespleinair.org/Canot/06/ ... uc2017.pdf

It's a long and expensive shuttle to the usual starting points either at Lac Froget or at KM158. It may be possible to access Lac Machisque as the lumber roads on that area are ever expanding but when I was last there (2008) that access was difficult.

The usual takeout is at km50, it's possible to continue on from that point, there are a couple of other road crossings further south that you could use if you want to extend the trip

There are plenty of hotels etc in the Saint Felicien area. Adventuraid can do the shuttle for you, their contact info is included in the guide.

It's a great river especially when levels are right but I've run it at both high and low levels and always enjoyed it.

Here's an alternate put-in: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewe ... 52177&z=16 Lets you onto Machisque so you get to start at the top. Less portages than the Froget put-in. Haven't done it, but did the Froget portage set, and it sucks. Would be really hard to be worse. Probably adds a day. Gorgeous river, lots of uninterrupted very runnable whitewater.

As an alternate in the same neighborhood, I would recommend the duChef - need a few more days. Gilles at Aventuraid will run your shuttle for either.

Forgot to say, on the map I sent, you want to start at the Flag that says Start 2016 - looks like a creek gets you out to the lake. I think that was posted by GeneU and can probably find more info on their trip by searching the site.
