I will be based near Granby for a week this July. Any suggestions for an day trip or even a pleasant few hours in marsh, slow moving river, or lake? Swimming spots are also of interest.

I've never been, but Yamaska National Park at $9/day seems like a safe bet.

I used to live in L'Estrie and loved it.

Frontenac Park has some options as well. Might be better as an overnighter from Granby.

Hey thanks to all three of you. I am going to check out the links this week. I thought I might also go to the nature centre in Cowansville and see how far along the Yamaska River I can get.

BTW - I really enjoyed paddlng on the Riviere Noir upstream from Saint-Pie. The river is slow and I didn't encounter any motor boats on that stretch. There were some mink and lots of birds. Best though, were the views of Mont Yamaska.
