Has anyone paddled the Lievre R early September?

Assuming you mean the Upper Lievre northwest of Mont-Laurier the answer would be yes.

If you are asking about water levels, they can be variable throughout the season, September could be the low point but not always.

I have done the river at all levels, 100 - 125cms is the sweet spot, anything below 75cms can be a bit bumpy and not so much excitement. The lowest I've run was 45cms, while passable it was not really a good experience.

You can check water levels here:

If you mean the other Lievre.....I got nothing!

Does anyone have contact info for a shuttle driver for the Lievre?
Hoping to go paddle it next week.

I've always self shuttled but I've heard a shuttle can be arranged through the ZEC.

I wish I could go too - level looks fantastic for this time of year! Hopefully it holds for late September when I plan to get out next

Yeah, not sure why the river is so high?
Doug, I think I've read somewhere on here that you have started your trips from Lac Orthes? Where do you usually camp when starting there? I've always started up at Lac Culotte.
thanks,
rab

I start from km 318 on the cartespleinair.org maps and camp there at the put in. It's not a great spot to camp, but after the drive in I don't have time to get anywhere else. After that I do 3 nights at the river. Day 1 at either km 305 (4B), km 301 (3C), km 292 (B). Day 2 at either km 292 (B) or 276 (3C). Day 3 at either km 274 (5C) or km 268 (B).

Hope the water level is accurate - other rivers in the area appear more seasonal but you never know.
