What a difference a week makes !
Last week I canoed the Jacques Cartier river near Quebec City at the lowest level I have ever seen it at. Today, after two days of torential rain, I can look out my riverfront window and see the churning water rushing by at spring flush levels....so high that it might be a little dangerous canoeing alone today with shoreline debris floating about but there should still be some challenging whitewater rapids this weekend if anyone is looking for something different than the bottom-scratching runs of late summer in most rivers of eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
And as an added bonus , the fall colours are at their peak
