Where The Waters Begin documents a 17 day, 270km canoe expedition through the geographic heart of Quebec and expansive wilderness of Eeyou Istchee. The route begins in the remote Otish Mountains with a descent down the Tichégami River. Following in the footsteps of the Cree peoples, our journey would guide us along headwater courses, who shepherd us across the height of land and out beyond the abyss of Quebec's largest lake. I'll be releasing a video series of this trip and edit up this post with the segments once published, so keep an eye on the Quebec Trip Reports if interested. First episode should be out in a few weeks. |

Looks great, I'm looking forward to the details and updates! One quick question - were you able to drive to your put-in or was it float plane access? |

Updating as for some reason the edit post function seemed to not work? After much delay, Episode 1 is up! The next 4 are nearly done and will be released every Thursday in December at 7pm. Ep 1 covers the first 4 days of our trip and is largely centered on the Otish Mountains Ep 2 will be a whitewater bonanza.... |

Thanks Brad. You really captured the awesomeness of the place. skookum wrote: ... were you able to drive to your put-in or was it float plane access? They drove to the put-in as seen in the video. Their take-out was at a campground with road access. |

My wife and I enjoyed Ep. 1 last night. Looks fantastic and those were some pretty amazing views. Quite the boulder gardens on those runs. I hope you guys get more water volume as you move downriver in subsequent episodes. |

All episodes are now up. You can catch the full journey in the links below. EP I: EP II: EP III: EP IV: Krusty wrote: They drove to the put-in as seen in the video. Their take-out was at a campground with road access. Yup, camping at Lac Albanel - Nibiischii Corp. There's a full campground, cabins and boat launch here. Gas is available but super $$$. Best bring Jerrycans. Put-in was in a gravel pit in the Otish Mountains. |

Great work Brad, loving the series. The area has been my go to summer canoe trip destination for nearly 15 years. Endless amounts of navigable water in beautiful boreal forest, with bonus huge "tropical" beaches. The technical rapids looked very thrilling! Cheers, Simon |
