This is a fun river to do as a daytrip, from where I live (Orléans) we can leave early morning, do a run and come back early afternoon for lunch (or stop by the amazing wood fired pizza place in St-André-Avellin). You can reset and do a 2nd run fairly easily if you have a bit more time. Portaging back up the 2 bigger rapids to run them again works as well and takes less time. The biggest issues for us is the ferry both ways to cross the Ottawa river (20$ per vehicle total) you also need one vehicle at the start and another at the end so min 2.

The run has 2 decent R2-3 and a couple R1s or 2s in between

In 2021 (still Pandemic so we had no other trips and waited until later in the season when we were comfortable with masks when sharing vehicles) we did 3 trips at 3 different water levels.

Once again the writeups are in English but videos bilingual? Tu parles la langue qui sort desfois quand tu y penses-pas mais on se comprends tous :)

Here are links to the 3 reports:

1 canoe with water level at 28m3/s (quite high for this river) - we roped one rapid since there was no clear line and we were alone

2 canoes water level at 5.5m3/s (low)

2 canoes water level at 3.3m3/s (very low) - still runnable!

If you have any questions on this daytrip (or comments) let me know!
