Here is a link to a recent CBC radio broadcast of paddling in N.B.
Yes it is a beautiful place to paddle with a wide variety destinatios and skills.
The river runners canoe club is a great resource and is very active!

For those wondering what the drive is like from southern Ontario is is no different then driving to Northern Ontario.

My son lives down there now so it has given me plenty of opportunity to visit and paddle.
