I'm considering a trip down the wind river in 2024. This thread has a lot of good information. Perhaps somebody with local knowledge or experience with this river can help to add more info, in particular, suitable flow rates for paddling the river. The Canadian government shows the following monitoring stations

Wind River above little Wind (10MA005)
Peel River above Canyon Creek (10MA001)
Peel River above Fort McPherson (10MC002)

Unfortunately 10MA005 doesn't seem to be reporting data so perhaps the best surrogate station is 10MA001, currently (Aug 2, 2023) reporting about 200 cms.

Can anybody offer advice on suitable paddling range using one of these operating stations as a reference?

thanks

Craig

We are doing the Wind next summer as well. It would be great to get a more current info from anyone that has done it in the last couple of years. As well, anyone want to share their trip notes, etc? Thanks all.

Cheers!
Sue

here is my not so recent trip report - its out in the Yukon Trip Reports folder

flow data for the Peel isn't very applicable to the Wind because of all the other tributaries that feed the Peel.
