Looking for any info and trip report advice.
I realize it's a little late to be on the rivers up in the YK but it's when I can get time off and I'm not a fan of being on rivers when everyone else is on them too.

I am basing my planning on this trip report.

http://www.kayak.yk.ca/html/rivers/bigs ... eport.html

I don't really fish and will be paddling solo

So nothing really to do other than break camp, paddle, make camp.

I've got 14 full days I can paddle so need about 60kms a day.

I also have 2 hours less day light per day being I'm going later in the year than the above mentioned trip report.

Anyone else been out late September in the Yukon?

Thanks

Joel

I did the Yukon from above Whitehorse to Dawson a couple of years ago. In mid-August, I averaged 7 mile an hour/ a bit over 11kph. I would think mid-Sept would be close to the same flows - have not been on the Big Salmon yet, but it appears to flow fast as well.

" not a fan of being on rivers when everyone else is on them too. "

A private trip of 4 boats, late July 2012 ... ya know, I can't recall seeing any other paddlers!

Not something you really have to worry about on the Yukon.

From the Thirty Mile River put-in at Deep Creek on Lake Laberge to the Yukon River to the take-out at Dawson City, 608 kms, 11 days
