Thanks to all who have made some nice points and comments! We are now thinking and researching the things you guys have mentioned. Our google-docs document is getting bigger and bigger with your ideas and things to consider. We will definitely return to this forum/thread with follow-up questions later on.

Our dream is stil NWT; but we are now also looking at different places like some of you have mentioned.

Also, we might end up with buying an Ally Canoe (or other folding canoe) from home and sending it to a our starting destination and then sending it back home again. We looked into it, and for now think this is a good option. Thank you for pointing out, that it might be difficult to purchase a canoe at our starting destination. Honestly, we didnt think that would be a problem - thought they were everywhere in Canada So that saved us from a lot of trouble.

Anyway. We continue planning and scribbling down ideas and thoughts and will return with follow up questions. Thanks for the inputs so far!
