Anyone done the St Croix in eastern Maine? Looks like the typical run is from Vanceboro to Kellyland. Outfitters are suggesting this is a 3-4 day trip but that seems like very lazy paddling, even to me. Could extend above on Spednik Lake - wondering if anyone knows what the portage around the dam in Vanceboro is like.
Thanks for any 411.
Christian

3-4 days seems about right. There is more water in the river and fewer people doing the trip after Labor Day. Also, C&C Canoe in Vanceboro is a good shuttle service.
