Frankr Got me to thinking about just after ice out camping on Lobster Lake. And there is a campsite on Scraggly(off Pocumus Lake up Grand Lake Stream way that begs for hot tents. Plus the huge campsite at Dobsis Dam. Maybe we should start a thread about " Hot Tent by Canoe " campsites that involve at most one short portage. Or maybe ,like sharing favorite fishing holes, not. |

Frankr Hi Frank, I bought that tent and interior frame kit but a 8x10 is too big for canoe camping. I never sewed, but I found an old machine and with my wife's instructions,(she won't let me near her machine) I went to work. I hated cutting it up, but all went well and even with a few minor mistakes, it's all good. The frame works really well, fast set up and strong, just bulky if you have to carry it over a portage. Wall tent camping is alot of fun, just the early sunsets need getting used to, no more evening paddles. Although sipping from a cup around the wood stove ain't the worst thing in the world...ha Robin |
