This could be cool for sunrise and sunset shots.
Depending on how long the eruption lasts and the amount of gases it puts in the air.
If you are in an area where the gases and sunrise or set meet you can be in for some very spectacular colours.

The western fires last year gave us some great shots, this event just won't be so wide-spread and you will have to be a little lucky.
so depending on the jet stream maybe a week away. from Ontario.

Better off going to Iceland for active volcano's.

How cool is that? Aside from Iceland, I think Hawaii is also a good place to go for active volcanoes but right now, probably not a good time to do so with one volcano there wrecking so many homes.
