Finally done!
Over all I'm pleased with the final product. The base of the tent is a Big Agnes Whetstone Small. Everything else came from my local Fabricland. I didn't keep a close tally but I'm probably into it for $300. A little steep, but what the heck.
The quality of the Big Agnes is remarkably good and seems like it will withstand wind and rain no problem. I really like the fact that it is free standing. It came seam taped and the poles are good quality. I'm still going to give it a good spray of Nikwax waterproofing/uv protectant.
The finished hut is tall enough to sit in my folding chair, long enough to lay down for a siesta, and still have dinner cooking on the gas stove. Little tight for the wood stove tho
.
It weighs 3lbs pretty much on the nose and still fits into the stuff sack it came in, so no excuse to leave it home.
Cant wait for bug season!...
Thx for looking.
