Incomplete combustion makes a great smudge from your Kelly Kettle to enjoy your coffee in peace during bug season.Do any experienced Kelly Kettle have any special technique they could pass on to maximize smoke ect.

Don't have any advice just an anecdote - way back in the early 80s my brother worked planting trees in NS and not sure where he would have gotten the recipe or idea at the time but he used soot from our keymac oil burning stove and mixed it with something - I don't recall what - for bug dope. It was like wearing blackface but he said it worked.

We found the Biolite jammed full of greens worked well for a trip to the thunderhut in June in Algonquin.

I usually throw in some greens or a couple small pieces of blackened charred wood left over from another burn which smokes pretty good.
