You could try a fabric yoke with a tumpline attached to that but I bet it would be sub-par and more of a pain than your removable yoke.
A tumpline by itself sounds dangerous for your posture.

What's so wrong about your removable yoke?

We've used the same design of removable/adjustable yoke for all of our solos and several tandems as well.
Place the yoke to the pre-marked spot and tighten the two large knobs to fix in place.
I couldn't imagine using anything else and we portage a lot.

I used removables on my last two canoes - a Shearwater and a Raven. As they both had aluminum gunnels, I used large rivets on either side where the removable yoke went to stop any kind of fore-back slippage.

However my newest Shearwater has carbon fusion gunnels that are angular so no way any of my usual knob tightening units will work.

I'm thinking that the fabric tumpline idea that buckles to the front of my seat might/should work. The Swift $600 carbon fiber yoke is a total non-starter.
thanks and cheers,

I set up a tumpline and tried it out. Worked fairly well but my had a headache and my neck was sore for quite awhile. I see the merits but am not sure about the amount of time needed before I get used to it.
Today I tried the paddles lashed in, very comfortable, I think I like it more then a regular carved yoke (other then the set up time).
