hi, so got some info,
it's a combo of exp.kevlar and carbon, with exp on inside and carb on out.
strength wise it's more comparable to kevlar fusion than to expedition kevlar.
was originally (2019 etc) offered as aesthetic option (carbon look/exterior cloth on kevlar boat),
now in mainline as it's been popular enough to promote to it.
specs for this layup are going up today or so
https://swiftcanoe.com/laminates/unless you really like the look i don't see much reason to upgrade.
it's another 2lbs and another $1200 says your checks,
you get: the look, perhaps a bit stronger than kev fusion, perhaps a bit noticeably stiffer.
myself, if i wanted a boat that was aimed at either (or all): carbon looks, or lightness, or stiffness,
i would go 100% carbon.
maybe one day (far from now). by then who knows, boats might be made of spider web or something.
that stuff is as strong as steel, greater tensile strength than kevlar.
goose down for sleeping bags, spider yarn for canoe laminates.
nature knows the way.,
