Take a copy of this map with you when you visit Wolf Lake this year. Take some time to walk the trails, document what you see, and send your concerns to newspapers, politicians, ministers, etc.
And send a copy of your concerns to "Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury." clsudbury@live.com, as they have taken the lead to advocate for the area.

Legend for the map.

The blue star is the site of concern on the east side where new trails are proposed.
The white arrows are some of the felled trees.
The red arrow is the failed silt fence.
The black arrow is the SW access.
The big red oval is the approx. space of the large cleared area.

The red line is a new trail 2021.
The orange lines are widened trails.
The yellow lines are smaller trails….the long yellow trail is the easiest to hike to get to the recently damaged areas

This is not a complete documentation of the trails.

I'm not clear on what the context is. Are you saying that there has been human activity in the area felling trees and clearing an area? Or was this storm damage?

Is there a reason why the map should only be accessible to myccr forum members?

I think it is ccr policy to only show attachents when you are signed in.

it would be good to share this map widely.

Red Pine, here is the map without the sign-in.

This article by Bill Steer should provide additional motivation if you have been considering a canoe trip in the Wolf Lake area. My brother and I hope to spend a week there after Labour Day.

Check out this Ottertooth map for the location -

Is this new/recent prospecting activity?

I know there had been stuff left behind from prospecting activity done several years ago.

There has been a lot of prospecting in the past 2 years. The footprint is heavy in the areas indicated on the map.
