I got an hours paddle on the bay this afternoon. Kayak, nobody want to canoe with me in the winter.

If we could figure out where the heck Kemble is we'd be right over. Do you live in Kemble proper or in the GKA(Greater Kemble Area?)

GKA
West side of Owen Sound (The Water) 12 km north of Owen Sound (The City).
A cross Grey Count Rd one from Cobble Beach Golf and housing development.
Would cost us about 400K to move across road.
Any way if you need some map work. Let me know.

still has some, though the topo maps are small scale and heavily watermarked, but if one is good with ctrl-prntscrn and photoshop they can easily make a good trip map
clicking print from this computer will remove the water mark. and then you can screen capture

Great resource. It's been several years since I needed topos. Remembered that I had posted to this thread some time ago, so I checked it out and got the refresher I needed to find, download, and print my maps.

I've been downloading CanTopo top maps on Windows 10 and Chrome this way... works for me and with no real expertise here.

Go to the zoom-in map page:

http://ftp.geogratis.gc.ca/pub/nrcan_rn ... ex_en.html

On the left side, select "Themes", then "Raster"...

Select 1:50,000 (or another scale)...

Zoom in for the top map you want...

This gets a little weird now, took me a while to figure it out but it works for me, can't say why this needs to be done (no expertise, advice needed)... so right click on the 1:50,000 map sheet, then double left-click - this should turn the selected map orange. Not right-clicking won't turn it orange to select with double-left clicking... hmmm.

Hit the download link that appears...

Select a PDF Cantopo map (tiff won't open for me).

It should download and then open with the PDF viewer to view.

Hit save file, give it a name and keep in Documents or Downloads folder or wherever.

For some reason the tiff files can't be opened in Windows 10, the PDFs work fine and that's as far as I'm gonna go with it... good luck, hope it works.

PS... it's easier with Avenza, but it seems their maps can't be downloaded and stored... still new, needs work.

I usually use the link cited by recped, but I was able to open a TIF version of a topo using frozentripper's link. I also was using Chrome and Windows 10. My TIF maps open in the Windows photo viewer.

I use the snipping tool (Windows Accessories) to select the section of map I need, then save that section to print out.

RE TIF/TIFF
On Windows use Windows Photo Viewer or the Photos app or an Adobe program.
