Hi - I'm running Canada Topo Maps Pro or Canada Maps Pro on my Android.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to create a new "route".

I click on "new route" as shown in the image below.

I'm then presented with a new screen, with the work "Length" on the top legend.

I don't understand the purpose of the legend since this display doesn't seem to every change.

I click on the three dots to bring the route options and the "Save option" is always dimmed?
Shouldn't I be able to save the new route?

If anyone out there can help explain how to create a route I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
Elliot

Hi Eselick,

I have a Canada Topo Maps app (not pro) for iPhone, but haven't found a use for it since switching to Caltopo. Caltopo is a great program developed for SAR, and it's free (for the base version, which is more than sufficient for my needs).

Caltopo can access Canada topographic maps, plus many others. It can be used to set routes, etc, online, which can then synchronize with the app on your phone. It can also be used to print out custom paper maps of your route. Relatively easy for a simpleton like me to use. With the route on my phone, and a paper map set, I've have stopped using my Garmin GPS for route finding (this is now relegated as a back up device).

There are Caltopo power users on MYCCR who can add more.

Use your finger or stylus to tap on the screen at the starting point of your route. Tap for the next point and the next point and so on.

Thanks for that! Easy now that you've explained it.
