Buddy swears up and down this is kevlar and FG but it is almost certainly royalex or SP3 vinyl. He has confirmed it has no float chambers but won't or can't send a picture of the serial number, which should contain a code telling what material it is made of.

If it is Royalex it is a good deal but I think it is SP3.

I finally convinced him and now he is pretty sure it is T-Formex

Too late for the $875 deal of the century - he's raising his price :-)

Now $1500 - sorry everyone :-)

"Fresh coat of paint?"

Ha ha I missed that - or maybe he just added it when making other changes.

Perhaps it really was worth the original $875

If it's old enough to need new seats it's probably a Royalex boat (available up until 2012), the fresh coat of paint would indicate it had a lot of wear which is now hidden, not an issue if it's just the vinyl skin but it could also be hiding some serious cracks. Many of my Royalex boats have cracks of one sort or another but they almost always appear only on the inner or outer layer but not both. My old MR Guide has LOTS of damage to the outer Royalex layer while the inner layer is still relatively pristine, apply some paint and it would look near perfect.

yeah, was going to jump on the 875$, cause nobody outfits a FG/Kevlar w/ airbags&spraycovers. Prob worth 1200$ without the paint job.

You could probably talk him down close to his original price.
