Selling my delorme inreach as I've upgraded to the plus unit to have all my gps data on it as well and only have to carry one unit.

It does have basic mapping with topo maps and acts like a gps as i use it for fishing all the time. I haven't not tried operating with an active package but will do today and let you know. I can't see why it wouldn't work without it.

Sorry I should also add that if you download the earthmate app on phone you have access to topo maps that canbe downloaded for specific areas and gps on phone will work on that map as well.
