I'd love to come to Deep Freeze, but I'm stuck in school that week.
Someone's gotta look after the next generation of winter campers...

That looks like an awesome set-up and the price sure seems right. Thanks for sharing!

Any chance you can re-host those images somewhere. I'd love to see them as I'm thinking of getting a hot tent setup, but the images won't display.

thanks in advance.

I'm not sure why these images are no longer showing up: I've still got them hosted on Photobucket, but the links don't seem to be working here... It was less than a year ago that I made this post: do images/links expire?

Any advice???

Barbara??? :D

It's not a problem on CCR's end. If you do a quote of the original post, you will see that the links to the photos are still there.

Must be something with the Photobucket links. I tried cutting a link in the original post and tried to get to it, but it never loaded.

Perhaps the links to the site have been changed?

If you figure it out, you can do an edit of the original post and input updated links.

Your link(s) say they were on ImageCave.com and not Photobucket

imagecave.com is down - again!
Whether it will be resurrected - again - is anyone's guess.

I sure hope that users like Mike, have their photos stored somewhere else that's safe.

fwiw,
Ted

I too was camping this past weekend at Seven Sisters Rapids on the Moon River just west of Hyway 69.I had a summer tent and a small Colman heater.Snowshoeing in pulling my toboggan was great but I froze at night. Niether my tent nor heat source were adequate for the temps. Your set up looks great and will be my choice next trip.

Well although I can't see the pic either it sounds like you've got your system down for some great trips. I haven't tried the collapsable stove I would like to see one as they would work great on late eason kayak trips. I've seen some of thier video's from their site but nothing is like hands on.

I too would love to see this setup...

Mike -- any chance you could PM me? I'll give you my email address to send the pics to personally, if that's a possibility.

Hey Mike:

Indeed, I'll second that chorus for you posting those pics again! Would love to see the setup.

I've been thinking of purchasing a hot tent setup this season, and came to the same conclusion as yourself: Kifaru stove for weight savings and packing, but a canvas tent for durability.

I like this idea of a blended canvas/nylon tent too. But, their web page is sadly missing pics and decsrtiptions:

http://www.capitalcanvas.ca/BlendedTents.asp

Any additional insights and thoughts you have would be appreciated Mike. Did you order the Kifaru stove directly from the US company? Did you find a CDN source by chance?

If you are considering a blended tent maybe worth looking at the Kanguk by Atuk tents

http://www.atuktents.com/accueil.asp?psec=3&choix=18&langue=en

It seems to have got some good reviews on wintertrekking.com though there is not a whole load of info on the Atuk website

They (he?) seems to make a nice range of tents.

Chris
