Hi,
I thought I'd share a few pictures of our ski trip into the Tonquin Valley (near Jasper, Alberta) on March 9, 10 and 11, 2012. The trailhead is just off a bend in the road to Marmot Basin Ski Resort.

Looks great, Ralph. I was hoping to get there this year, but it doesn't look like it now.

rivinerat,
Deep, deep snow. Not a good place to fall down. Even harder when carrying a pack.

dunkin',
It is a very special place especially with amazing views when it doesn't snow for the whole time. When it's clear you can see the spectacular views of the Ramparts. They seem to come directly out of the lake and are very steep and close. The British Columbia border is along their tops. Check out the contour lines on the maps.
If you go, I know you'll be impressed. Maybe next year for you.
Ralph
