I have the telescopic stoves pipes from lebarons. What is the best way to clean these?

Thanks,

AP

Hi Algonquin,

I have not seen the Le Baron's telescoping pipes. Are they true telescoping (stay together regardless), or are they tapered and nesting, and come apart into separate sections?

If the former, then ya I can see them maybe jamming or sticking if the tolerances are tight. Can you post a photo of the pipes?

I have the latter design, Kni-co tapered pipes, separate pieces which nest inside each other for packing. In the bush I simply ream them out with a stick. They nest inside each other fine with a sooty inner coating. I have never brushed them out with a true chimney cleaning brush.

Same here. I just cut a spruce branch with a bush of needles at the end and pass it through the pipe sections.

I just use a long handled steel wire brush, a few passes and i'm done. The nesting pipes are pretty short so the whole process takes only a few minutes.
