Hi

I have been searching for winter camping enthusiast local to the Sudbury area for some time. Seems I found the right place!

I would like to attend the 2017 Deep freeze. Is there a specific time that people are meeting up at? As I have never attended before I do not know the specific location other than the parking location. Is the trail to the camp area marked or otherwise easily navigated?

As I have read $10 for parking, I guess will be given to someone at the campsite. Are there any other traditions among the group?
Unfortunately I stumbled upon this group the night of your prep weekend.
Is there going to be another prep weekend?

Hope to attend and to participate in the groups activities activities.

Here are a couple of previous threads that might be of help to dongle and any other newcomers. If I've made an error, hopefully one of the experienced DeepFreezers will correct me.

Hi All;

How does one go about signing up/enrolling? I'm very interested in coming. Is there anything specific someone would need to bring above and beyond normal winter camping gear loadout? Any traditions I should be aware of? Things if that sort?

Cheers,
TRW

TRW there is no sign up just show up. Usually we let each other know who is coming , usually a post in this forum.. We also pick a night when we have a biggish fire and a potluck get together. That might be on a Wednesday this year. We are all independent as far as gear goes, but we do have thunderboxes, share a water hole and have a couple firewood days.
Hope to see you at deepfreeze!!

My daughter came to me this morning and said, "24 more sleeps"!

Time to start packing gear.

Hi,

My mobile phone does not get reception at the site, but I seem to recall that others do. I don't need to call anyone but it would be nice to have a number that could be reached in case of a family emergency or something. So if there is someone who is going to be out there all or most of the time, with a working phone, who does not mind me giving that number out as an emergency-only contact, please send me a PM.

Thanks,

Daniel.
