I caught a few nice walleye and pike up to about 12 lb on the Spanish, I think there is a slot size with some extra restictionson the walleye, so better check the regs.

Holes below the rapids and on deep corners held most fish.

There are two points on Expanse lake that can hold fish. The first almost cuts the lake in two, it's right after the rock garden from Lake 10(the one with the outpost camp). The second point is at the far end, there is a nice campsite there as well. I have had more luck on the second than on the first. We usually camp on Expanse for a short second day. Haven't been there for a while though. Please post your results I am curious as to your success.

After three days out of Bisco, down the Spanish, I made camp at the bottom of Breadner Falls. I caught this beauty on a silver No. 1 Mepps around three in the afternoon. I was really just trying for a smallmouth bass for diner and next to my size nine I determined I would need three or four days to finish eating the pickerel. It is back feeding on the currents and I ended up catching a few smallmouth a little farther down from the campsite.

I usually get upset when I see nails driven into trees and what I saw caused a lump in my throat. A small copper placard nailed to a Jack pine which read.
