I know a few of you have a lot of experience working with youth - I am wondering whether you've ever worked with autistic youth. This year I move from Scouts to Cubs in the Scouting program - along with my 8 year old who is moving up from Beavers. One of the other boys moving up is what I think you call 'high functioning autism'. I was at Beavers camp with them in the spring and got to meet him and his dad. I wrote a blog post about it here and about how I've already started working with his dad on ways to make sure his son can have a positive experience in the program.

Definitely eager to hear from anyone who has experience working with autistic youth

Here is my blog post :

Keep in mind that kids with autism are more likely to drown
