Not sure, the Gulf of Mexico is not too far away. Captured in Florida.

Snowies have a black bill and yellow feet. Great Egrets have a yellow bill and black feet.

This happened to me while visiting Hawaii. I was sitting on a deck chatting with my host, a native Hawaiian, when a similar species alit not 2 yards from us. He absolutely freaked out - to the point of tears. Apparently some cultures attach great significance to such encounters.

I thought they might be in Burlington! You have water there!

I always get snowies and Greats mixed up.. The green eye in breeding season is really spectacular.
