Hi everyone,

A friend of mine and a really super guy lost his canoe and gear on the lower Black run this weekend at MACKfest.
If anyone finds a blue Vertige X with a pelican, camera, H2O paddle please check out the boatwerks page and get in touch with Collin.
Collin is the type of guy who will sit in the water for hours to get the perfect shot of you and send you the file, give anyone a ride to the river and make sure you're ok and hooked up.
We'd all love to see our buddy get his "girlfriend" (the boat) back

Cheers and thanks!!!!

  no, not a freudean slip, just typing quick....but very funny

anyways, Collin managed to get to shore safe. I wasn't on this river Sunday so can't relay the details other than everyone feels pretty bad for Collin.

The rivers were huge....other than this, it was a prety good weekend.

So, it wasn't stolen; it just got away from him????

Correct Mike, it was not stolen.

It was a rescue situation where the boat was lost. It happens, we've returned paddles and even kayaks.
Anyways, it you happen to see a vertige X floating by or hear someone found one let them know it wan't carelessness, the boat does have an owner.

Thanks

Gail....I thought you did the Beaver Sunday, not the lower Black? As I'm sure you heard.....I didn't paddle the Beaver Sunday.....No there was't to much ice for me..... I needed to get home..... to much work..... well maybe not work. I had to finish off setting up some gates for the girls..... so I did get some paddling in Sunday afternoon. AND I STAYED OUT OF THE POISION IVY!!!!!   At least I think I did???? no leaves on this time of year!

Glad to hear Colin got his boat back!!

Yea....after picking up the drysuits and having Mark say ...yea, the lower Black....pretty big holes isn't there?

I chickened out and did the Beaver....which was honkin' too, but at least I figured I'd have a choice on wether to run things
when we got home we saw Collin's post and felt really bad for him so I posted here; shortly after he let everyone know the boat was recovered.

the Kayakers who did the Beaver saturday managed to open a really nice channel, no ice to push through, even a channel through the swamp ...you would have had a really nice time.
Diamond...didn't think I could make the ferry (went river right to scout)
bridge...none of our group ran (except Tom the kayaker) we figured we'd hit the bridge......Mark's group proved that wrong (behind us)
Ugly....was ugly

yea, Poison Ivy putting up gates on your face......still haven't conviced me that's not a cover story
take care
