The problem was that Kingfisher let go of his canoe when he stepped out to get it off a rock and his bowperson and canoe went zipping down a Class II-III rapid. Arriving at the bottom unhurt, after executing the run perfectly by herself, from the bow seat, without the benefit of the sternman. She then politely serenaded him with a small poetic ditty to express her displeasure with his faux pas while threatening to leave him there on the rocks to fend for himself without even a pup tent to provide shelter for his now soaking wet arse.

I think that says it all..... but the real problem is that Kingfisher told us about this event... probably because the effected party was seeking retribution and forced him to go public on this forum. That has kept us amused for the past few days.....while his partner has probably been rolling on the floor with laughter over the predicament that she has put him in.

Or was it a fox's paw?

Getting out with both feet over one side and sitting on the gunwale. Properly timed this can catch the stern paddler unaware.

Yes the painter line, that should have been my first thought, but I wasn't thinking about lining, it was going to be a quick but elegant out and in.

That isn't theory at all I've personally seen this one. I thought it was quite funny at the time. Craig's bow paddler always is aware of fashion sense while tripping.
