Looking for yoke patterns / ideas out there.

I have seen several different ideas out there;
http://www.greenval.com/FAQsolo-yoke.html
http://www.aracnet.com/~ncglad/canoe/yokedetail.htm
http://www.anglefire.com/on3/madcanoeist/yoke/yoke.html

Are there any other ideas out there?
I've got a nice piece of cherry just waiting to get carved up.
It will be for a solo (Osprey) canoe, so it must be removable.

Still thinking about using my two (trip) paddles as a yoke, but there would be a span of 55" between the thwarts. Too great a load for the paddles?
Also thinking of useing (2) wide straps attached to the bow & stern thwarts that would act as a shoulder harness.

All the best in this Hoilday Season,
Doug

You might want to re-think that last URL - not the kind of paddling this site usually refers to.

cheers, Ted

Wow, that was unexpected. There's a spelling mistake in the url (anglefire instead of angelfire). It should be http://www.angelfire.com/on3/madcanoeist/yoke/yoke.html

My appologies to all, concerning my above URL address, it was a slip-up in my typing ability (angle vs. angel).
Several wrong letters in an address and bam your in a whole different ballpark.
I meant to type madkanuist's website.

Please accept my humble appologies.

Doug
