A question for boat builders - as you know, there are may designs out there that do not have published plans. If you could get strip bulding plans for any canoe in the world, which canoe would you pick?

I'd pick a good one that floats and meets all my requirements for the style of paddling I do.

I'd love to have a Bell Wildfire in cedar strip, but I already own one, so I'd rather build something I don't own.

Sure seems like a simple enough question but I've been wracking my brain with it since I saw the post.

Even if the choice was narrowed to solo or tandem it would only be slightly easier but I'll give it a shot anyway............

Chestnut Pal would be my overall choice (there may be plans available though I've yet to stumble on any). Also haven't had a lot of experience in asymetrical designs so it's just a personal thing based as much on the fact that I paddled a few as a kid and always liked the design.

Why you asking Moonman?
