Hi All,

I have an old (1961) canvas cedar boat that is now showing some dry rot on some planks. It was a gift from my parents and is the pride of my holdings. I believe the boat was made in Peterborough by Chestnut and has a shoe keel. Can anyone suggest a good source for repair near the Ottawa area?

Thanks for your help.

Rick

You can ask on the WCHA forums www.wcha.org. There ought to be builders/restorers in the Ottawa area. There are plenty of wooden canoe folk in Ontario.

Ottawa Valley Canoe do a lot of canoe restorations including cedar/canvas.

They're about 20 minutes west of the Corel Center.
