About a year ago, I posted some questions about a canoe that I had found in a garage and wanted to restore.

In the course of the year, I learned that the boat was a Peterborough Prospector River Model (made by the Chestnut Canoe Company) sometime in the mid-1940s. (Thanks to the Peterborough Canoe Museum for digging into that)

I also learned that I wanted to make sure that it was done correctly, so I did what I could and then took it to a wonderful restorer. If anyone is looking for someone to do some work on their wood canvas boat, I highly recommend Kijik Canoes near Bancroft.

So, after all of that, I just wanted to thank everyone for their great advice (I took most of it) and to show off the final product. You can check out the complete ordeal @ http://picasaweb.google.ca/everante/CanoeProject

Thanks again!!

Andy

isn't that just fantastic! What a great job, love the colour too. Man that will look just awesome on the water and probably best from the stern seat. Congrats.

Very, very nice......speechless....a real thing of beauty.....leads to sayings like "take my wife, but don't touch my canoe".

Well it's got a pedigree...that's for sure. Very very nicely done.

Now, I'm feeling fiesty (full moon ) so I'm gonna bite:

"Take my wife...but don't touch the canoe!"

Mr. Haslam, I think we agreed some time back that the rules of engagement on CCR clearly state:

Do NOT compare woman to canoe...

In fact, I believe Richard has added this to his nettiquette rules.

Well...you're busted! I now have my get outta jail free card - I'm thinking I'm gonna be moderated for being moderate on the topic of all things female...but I live by the sword 8)

Now Mark, do you really want to take sides with Mr. Haslam? I got the sisterhood to back me - and we're fiesty of late.

Well suit yourself. I've taken full advantage of my get outta jail free card - we now have the Barbuda triangle doing the Hoochie Koochie - I expect it's really gonna start to rock:wink:
