ROFL Now I feel like I belong here......

Well when looking at the possible Clipper canoes I am interested in, I also pondered the Clipper The Montreal but it was a little out of my $2000 hard limit.

Not sure if the wife and 1 1/2 year old daugher could handle that many paddles while I fish.

My wifes bigest fear with this desire to make my own paddles for our near future canoe is that we will end up with 75 paddles. Think of how much wood I would waste making all those one piece paddles.

In case you are interested, the Maori Paddles are quite unique, and very
heavily detailed. The Maori are superb craftsmen and woodcarvers.

see www.aotearoa.co.nz/tiki/gallery.htm#paddle

These paddles shown are miniatures... only 18 inches long... maybe it will
inspire Dad to introduce your 1 1/2 year old to canoeing early?

Note that the Kauri Wood "Stock" is Carbon-Dated as 30,000 Years Old...
Pretty amazing when one considers our ancestry in Canada ia a mere 500
years old...
I have a number of pieces hand-carved from these ancient submerged logs.
