friend baught a fiberglace canoe

its paint red want to repaint green

what is the best way to do the job?

what kind of paint?
etc
any tips would help

Tremclad is what we use for the scout troop canoes - lasts years

Wash boat with soap and water.
Rinse and let dry.
Sand all paint surface with 150/220 a random orbital sander works well. Fill deep scratches if you need to.
Thin first coat paint and apply.
Let dry then sand lightly with 220.
Apply second coat.
Let dry and cure till paint is hard and wont peel under a thumbnail.
And yes Tremclad works just fine.

Same as Stencil said. I added some paint thinner to the Tremclad though and used a small sponge roller. You might get a slightly smoother finish.
