We are contemplating the purchase of a Skeena in the whitewater layup and are wondering what people's experience of it have been. Currently we paddle a royalex Dumoine on river trips but I have reached an age where I am noticing the weight. I would rate ourselves as intermediate level paddlers in that we mange to miss most of the rocks in the river.

I haven't used a WW layup from Hellman or Souris River canoes but I have used their Duralite layups as my (mild) WW boats.
They stood up to a lot of good hard use abuse for decent amount of time.

So as far as their WW layups... I wouldn't shy away from the durability but I would not like the weight increase.
