Hey All. I’m a little infatuated with the “new” cloth, Innegra. Does anyone have experience with using it ? And what weave combo layups have worked? It appears to come in pure Innegra, basalt Innegra, glass Innegra and carbon Innegra. Thanks.

Maybe I should clarify. I’m asking in regards to canoe hull construction.

I have had a carbon/fiber/kevlar/glass Plaicid Boatworks Rapid Fire for 13 years. Innegra is a co mingled fiber with glass or Kevlar in boats I believe. I don't think Joe uses it now even but it could be a renaming of the fabric he does use.. I don't know.

I am not a material guru though http://www.innegratech.com/faq

You could contact Swift Canoes which uses it a lot.. I believe they use a biaxial Innegra.

As far as tough the Placid schedule is great for lightness and the occasional rock.. It might break in class 3 whitewater.

Are you buying or building?

The material schedule and construction may be as important as the material itself
