looks like a pretty decent boat to me, Trailhead Prospector, nice design. not a bad price as far as i can tell from that photo.

The gunwales look solid to my eye based only on the blurry pics. Looks like all the wood is begging for a good sanding followed by some good oil or varnish. That's an easy and rewarding weekend's work. The seat lacing may well fail soon...the seat frames look bone dry. If you can handle the 56 pounds then sometimes the older/heavier Kevlar lay-ups aren't bad since many are overbuilt with many layers of Kevlar and lots of resin. I had one composite boat with a keel (Bluewater Peterborough 16) and while I didn't love the looks of it, it had very little effect on the boat's handling so in my view it's not a big factor one way or the other. The small chips in the keel are easily repaired with a little epoxy. Offer $700 cash and get on the water before it turns solid. :)
