Post subject:  Solo tripping buddy (yep, I get the contradiction)

In the last few years I have gotten more into solo tripping, mainly because my friends are less eager to rough lately and my kids are too young for some of the trips I take. Family camping is great but my 2 year old won't handle 6km of portaging in a day.

I'm no expert but at this point I have all the gear I need, can keep a decent pace (on par with the estimated times on Jeff's map) and am comfortable in the bush.

While solo is great at times to clear my head and get away from a house full of kids etc., it would be nice to have a paddling / fishing buddy on some trips. Taking a chance here to see if there any any people in similar situations.

Given family obligations I am usually out for a few days at most, but can see myself doing a week. I paddle a swift cruiser pack boat, it's not for the purist but it's fast and light. I prefer to travel light and do single carry, but I will always consider some fishing gear a necessity. I'm in the Kitchener Waterloo region or sometimes in the Kawarthas.

Reach out if this resonates with you!
