We're doing our intial planning for the Snake R this July. I'd like to get recommendations of good books on the history of the Yukon.
Suggested nature books on Yukon's birds flowers etc.
I've looked at Yukonbooks.com (Lots to choose from) I want to whittle it down and get some idea of the best ones.

Hi Hugh,

By coincidence, I just read a back issue of "Nastawgan", Vol 31, no. 3, August 2004, article: "Canoeing Yukon's Snake River", by Jay Neilson and Frank Knaapen. They discuss some history of the area.

Nastawgan is published by the Wilderness Canoe Association. If you contact the editor they might sell you a back issue copy or photocopy the article for you, or give you a contact for Jay and Frank.
