Thanks for that Steve, interesting and thought provoking introspection. I suppose it's a very personal journey, not just our motivation for temporary isolation, but also what we'll experience as we look for whatever we think we're looking for.
I think people most comfortable with seclusion are likely already living "separate lives" in society. I myself am a bit of a loner, but have no idea if I'd be happily adjusted to total isolation, even for a few months. Not sure I'd want to try.

I'm on the hold list with the library for it. I'll read it and will either give a short comment in a few weeks or I hop the fence, avoid the cctv cameras and live in a shack in the bush for a few years. Time will tell.
