We are 2 Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership students who are planning an expedition down the Hayes River in Manitoba this August. We made a video about our plans and are running a campaign in Kickstarter. If you would like to view or share our video it would be greatly appreciated, please see our page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/15 ... expedition

Sounds like a great trip. I would love to do this some day. Is there anything you need gear wise? Maps?

I think we are pretty good for gear, still have a few things to pick up but for the most part we are ok.

Any information or input is very much welcome though.

Are you starting right at the old HBC fort in Norway House or will you put in at the ferry at Sea Falls? The ferry might be your better option if the lake is rough.

Here is the video that my partner and I made about our Hayes River trip this past August. It was an amazing journey.
