Well... this one was great to see, and spectacular weather with the lightning and thunder off in the distance . I've spent time cruising shorelines on large lakes and some of the best times were with thunderstorms growling somewhere far away, and some rain for variety. Good show, very enjoyable.

@ frozentripper : Well thanks. Slowly cruising through those islands in the rain at the end was the best canoeing of that trip. Everything so lush and green, beavers and that deer, the rumbling from above and the odd bird made for a serene experience.

@ Ralph : Sure got cold fast this year. Since Sept 15 we've been 10*C or more below seasonal. Here that first snowfall a couple of weeks ago melted pretty quick, but I hear parts of Alberta aren't so lucky. North of Prince Albert Saskatchewan is having a cold snowy time too I hear.I went to the Forks Friday and all the snow was gone except in dense shaded areas. In 2015, when I filmed my video Last Canoe Of The Season, it was Dec 6 and the South Saskatchewan River wasn't frozen or even iceberg laden yet and the snow had just begun. I feel we'll be well ahead of that this year. There's a big variation in fall weather patterns I'm starting to understand.
