Great video as always! I really appreciate the time and effort it takes to get the remote shots and the variety of other shots you use. We just got back from doing some portage clearing in that area and your pictures brought back memories. Regarding the 115 m portage from near the north end of Versailles Lake to Mink Lake, in case you go through that way again, due to a number of factors we decided it would be better to re-route that portage. We did not try to remove any trees from the existing portage but went to the other side of the drainage where the fire was so hot that it pretty much completely incinerated all of the standing and dead trees. We created a good landing on the south side and a useable landing on the north side. I believe the new portage is much easier than the old one. Looks like there will be years of annual maintenance on those portage trails as the fire-killed trees continue to fall. Thanks again! |
