I am trying to put together a short (4-5 day) flatwater trip in the Chibougamau vicinity. We are flying up, so need help with canoe rentals and shuttle service, as well as maps and route planning. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good outfitter?

I have never booked with guide Robert Bernard. But, except for the quirk about no credit cards, it looks like a good operation.

I have been in Chibougamau. I have done a couple of river trips in the region. The area is rich in canoeing history and tradition. It has a lot to offer - but not much canoe outfitter infrastructure. If he can't help you he will almost certainly be able to advise you as to who in the area could.

I am not sure Chibougamau has enough infrastructure for you to fly in and have someone else set up your trip.
