A friend has a project of find out how the animals are doing in the bush this winter.
He would like sightings, tracks, road kill, or any sign we see while in the bush.
Mice to Moose. Even Raptors.
Crown land/ Public land, parks or backyards. Canada or Northern USA. The description of the location as Close as GPS or as general as ie "10 km north of Kemble." Or SE APP.

With the deep snow and bitter cold out here in Manitoba we are expecting a Winter kill for white tails. On my commute I normally see deer all Winter long in certain areas, and although I can see the tracks across the one road, I have yet to actually see a deer in that area, where last year the herd was around two dozen, but I will keep a look out.

That area would be all agricultural land at Grosse Isle, Manitoba. We have had a couple feet of snow and yesterday was a -50F windchill.

Same area I see the white tail trail across the road just a km or so South of Grosse Isle, MB, Wed and Thursday nights I counted 41 deer out in adjacent fields, likely the same herd.

Latest thaw opened up plenty of ground for feeding.
