My friend and I are looking into kayaking the Moisie this year. We are both confident class 4 boaters and will be using crossover boats. Has anyone else kayaked the Moisie or know someone who has? What would be the most kayak friendly route? I'm just generally looking for advice from someone who has done it before.

Thanks in advance

The only people I know who have kayaked the river was a group led by Pat Camblin, they did a "mad dash" trip in 2008 running everything except the fish ladder if I recall correctly and doing the whole trip in 9 days.

They used the Pekans access route.

He posted here with a few questions and then a brief update after the trip. None of his own online posts seem to be available now (domains gone) but you might be able to track him down.

This group was made up of more than "confident" paddlers, tending more to the extreme level.

You can find his posts here by searching for author = patcamblin
