I'd seen these on the shelves for years and always avoided them mainly because I don't like pants with a built in belt. But after seeing several other Scout leaders wearing them I bought some - and in hindsight for $23 they are a pretty easy thing to buy to try out to see if you like them. Well, I did like them so bought some more this year. They have zip off legs and lots of pockets. They change the pocket configurations every few years and I have not yet compared my new ones with last year's to see what differences there might be.

Quality is good especially for that low price.

Does anyone know where to get pants for women of similar quality/price? I regularly check Costco, but they only ever have men's pants that are too large.

I've seen several women Scout leaders wearing these pants. For 23 bucks just try them.

Was in today, and saw womens "travel pants". Quick dry, useless pocket on the knee too small), but they were cheap and would be decent for paddling if you can get the right length. Came in black, navy blue etc.

I have used them for years they are great!
Also keep an eye out for the winter version, equally great!
(they are lined)

Edit: I also use a regular belt with them.

And I do have the original pants that youwere talking about + the version they have in winter that are line, and they are very good.
